Domestic Literacy Initiative
Grant Program Supporting Literacy in Impoverished Areas
ACP provides direct grants to teachers and schools in low-income communities across the United States to fund books, materials, and technology that support foundational reading skills. This program operates with minimal overhead — funds go straight to classrooms — and is built around teacher-driven applications so that the people closest to students decide how resources are used. The experience and lessons from this ongoing work directly shaped the design of the Appalachia Advancement Aid (AAA) Micro-Grants program.
